Home Instead Senior Care of Colorado Springs began in June 1997 with just a couple of clients and eight CAREGivers. Today we have grown to over 100 clients and over 180 CAREGivers.

The owner, Kathryn A. Curry, began this service in El Paso and Teller Counties out of a love and concern for older persons and a strong desire to make a positive difference in people's lives as well as take care of herself and her teenage daughter. She grew up with a grandmother and 2 great aunts who had a positive effect and influence on her life and taught her much about showing respect for one's elders.

Home Instead Senior Care is a non-medical service helping seniors who wish to remain at home but need some extra help to do so. Our service focus is companionship for those who have safety or security needs, especially those with dementia, meal planning and preparation, errands, light housekeeping and laundry to name a few. Our CAREGivers are reference checked and have had a full criminal background check completed. Each of them are bonded and insured and are fully covered by workman's compensation. Home Instead Senior Care pays for the employee's social security and Medicare. In addition our CAREGivers receive ongoing training through our CAREGiver Education Program, monthly newsletters, and quarterly caregiving meetings where an outside speaker comes to teach about a topic of concern. Further, selected CAREGivers are chosen to complete specialized training on Alzheimer's and then receive a certificate of program completion as Alzheimer Trained CAREGivers through the Glenner Institute of Alzheimer Education and Research (See our list of 20 questions you should ask before hiring a caregiver).
